According to the British Time magazine, Mljet belongs to the ten most beautiful islands in the world and is the only European island in that group. a historic heritage – the magnifi cent ancient palace and the 12th century Benedictine monastery are on the islet of St Mary.

This greenest of Croatian islands, ancient Melita, has hosted visitors from mythology and history, Odysseus and the nymph Calypso, the Apostle Paul, the poet Oppian, the Roman Emperor Augustus, Dubrovnik noblemen, the Benedictines, and many others who sailed to its shores.
